NEX GEN Twelve-Five
NG 12-5 (12.5 meters / 41 feet rotor diameter)
Grid Intertie System rated 33 Kilowatts for Three Phase
and Single Phase.
The hub contains the device for varying the pitch of the blades. Contrary to most other small wind energy converters the NG TWELVE-FIVE features the pitch control system of the blades giving the advantages of:
- Automatic restarting after grid failure
- No shutdown in strong winds
- Constant frequency in stand-alone operation
The fiberglass rotor blades are aerodynamically formed according to the profile NACA 4424-4415. The rotor drives a generator through a three-stage spur gearing. A spring-loaded disc brake is located between the rotor and the rotor bearing. The hydraulic control devices are contained in a single block mounted on the generator housing. The rotor bearing and the generator are flange-mounted to the gearbox, which in turn is connected to the wind tracker via a pedestal. The wind tracking system is vane-driven via worm gearing.
The tower is of octagonal tubular steel construction. The electronic safety and control devices, together with relevant instrumentation are housed in a switch cabinet on the tower pedestal. This switch cabinet also contains the power terminals for connecting the NG TWELVE-FIVE to the grid or to the consumer loads.
Advantages of the NG TWELVE-FIVE:
- Fully Automatic operation in grid connected operation
- Automatic restart after grid failure
- Thoroughly field tested, fail safe design
- Easy to assemble
- Easy to maintain
- High level of reliability
- Design lifetime over 20 years
Safety devices
- Manual cut-out by opening of the hydraulic circuit
- Electronic and mechanical over speed shutdown
- Emergency cut-off and maintenance blocking by means of an integrated disk brake
- Whole system in accordance with the German Standards VDE and DIN
- Vibration detector
Design lifetime ...... 20 years

OTHER OPTIONS
Grant Writing: WERC has a Grant Writing Team that has been successful on 25 grant applications to date. USDA grants, CERT’s grants, Power Company Grants and other grants are possible for the pioneering purchasers of small wind turbines, especially if educationally oriented.
Data Option # 1 (Simple Data Harvesting on a dedicated, on-site computer): Wind Speed, Multiple Views of Kilowatt Hours, Amps and Volts Produced, Temperature, Graphs, Line Charts, Live Usage Charts
Data Option # 2 (Data Harvesting plus Internet Publishing of Data): Wind Speed, Multiple Views of Kilowatt Hours, Amps and Volts Produced, Temperature, Graphs, Line Charts, Live Usage Charts. This accurate data is publishable and can be used by Schools, Sponsors and Stakeholders for Education and Economic Development in your area.
Antenna Option: Earn additional income from antenna leasing on your tower. WERC will identify options for leasing carrier space on your tower for antenna for wireless communications, arrange contracts for you with carriers or pay you directly. Please realize that foundation design strength will need to increase cost with certain antenna types. Contact us for consulting or WERC may offer a fixed annual rate, depending on site.
