Northwind 100

Northwind 100 - (30 meters / 41 feet rotor diameter)
Grid Intertie System rated 100 Kilowatt for 3 Phase

The Northwind 100, one-hundred kilowatt, low-profile wind turbine is manufactured by Northern Power Systems located in Vermont. This is a state-of-the-art, village-scale wind turbine that provides cost-effective, highly reliable renewable energy even in even the most demanding environments.
Designed for ultimate reliability and low-maintenance, the turbine ensures that you can “fly it and forget it.”
The gearless direct drive technology maximizes energy capture and begins making power at wind speeds as low as 6 mph. So, you don’t have to live in a wind tunnel to benefit from wind power.

The Northwind 100 can match the power needs of many local applications, whether they are municipalities, schools and universities, commercial farms, businesses or remote villages.

The turbine comes with SmartView remote monitoring system.

The Northwind 100 is a "Ready-For-Utility Interconnect" Certified Product

Advantages of the Northwind 100:

  • Low profile - high efficiency
  • Innovative Gearless direct drive technology
  • Less maintenance
  • High level of reliability

OTHER OPTIONS

Grant Writing:  WERC has a Grant Writing Team that has been successful on 25 grant applications to date. USDA grants, CERT’s grants, Power Company Grants and other grants are possible for the pioneering purchasers of small wind turbines, especially if educationally oriented. WERC Grant Writing NEWS

Antenna Option:  Earn additional income from antenna leasing on your tower. WERC will identify options for leasing carrier space on your tower for antenna for wireless communications, arrange contracts for you with carriers or pay you directly. Please realize that foundation design strength will need to increase (cost too) with certain antenna types. Contact us for consulting or WERC may offer a fixed annual rate, depending on site.
