WERC Offers Two Site Plan Options.

1) COMPREHENSIVE Site Plan

The Comprehensive Wind Turbine Site Plan provides key information for a potential wind turbine owner to assess the complete project cost, revenues, paybacks and other incentives estimated over a 10-year period. The site plan also provides needed details for building permits, power company interconnection agreements, grants, county wind ordinances. The site plan also provides virtual photos of how the wind turbine installation will look from several viewpoints.

The cost for our Comprehensive Site Plan service will be $750 (plus travel expenses), effective 8/01/09.

During the site plan visit WERC officials will discuss options with you, measure your site, take photos and provide you with the information listed below.  

1. Wind site assessment coversheet and sample turnkey contract.
2. A CAD (computer-aided design) drawing of the site to properly set the turbine location in relation to nearby roads, buildings, power poles, transformers, wells, septic systems, waterways and other items, showing setback distances for any related permits.
3. GPS (Global Positioning System) latitude/longitude coordinates and USGS images of the site.
4. Elevation of the site and other important elevations (feet above sea level).
5. Digital photos of the site with a virtual wind turbine and tower installed.
6. An adjustable spreadsheet containing the following: 
1. The total turbine, tower and installation costs (proposed)
2. Projected tax benefits, credits and related sources
3. Projected production of electricity for 10 years
4. Projected income from Green Credits for 10 years
5. Documentation on Tax Deductions, Exemptions, Credits
6. Other possible revenues, grants and additional benefits
7. Research data on average wind speeds from the state database plus at least three of the nearest anemometers or turbines currently producing.
8. Specifications and Owners Manual on wind turbine, inverter options, tower assembly, warranty and installation.
9. Interconnection line drawing and specs for the Power Company, State Inspectors and local electrician.
10. County Wind Ordinances

2) FEASIBILITY Site Plan

WERC Feasibility Study provide the potential wind turbine owner with the knowledge that it is possible to get a wind turbine in the location that is requested along with general information on tax incentives, product specifications, wind maps, USDA Information, and provides virtual pictures of how it will look from several viewpoints for a potential small wind turbine owner. (See details below)

The cost for our Feasibility Study service will be $350 (plus travel expenses), effective 8/01/09.

FEASIBILITY STUDY OPTION INCLUDES:

1. Spreadsheet with a payback scenario

2. A digital photo of the site with a virtual wind turbine and tower installed.

3. Research data on average wind speeds from at least three of the nearest anemometers or turbines currently producing.

4. State & Federal Tax Incentives Information

5. General WERC Information

6. Specifications on wind turbine, and warranty information.

**PLEASE NOTE: The Feasibility Study DOES NOT contain the required information to apply for the USDA grant, building permit, power company interconnection agreement, and spreadsheets showing projected tax exemptions, tax incentives, and payback periods. To get the additional information a Comprehensive Site Plan will need to be conducted.

**PLEASE NOTE: If the potential wind turbine owner decides to do the Comprehensive Site Plan after the Feasibility Study has been completed, there will be an additional fee of $500 prior to the completion of the Comprehensive Site Plan.
