Eco-Domes Weather Station - Vantage Pro2™ by Davis Instruments

A weather station has been installed at the Eco-Domes for global data and forecasting.

These professional weather stations feature state-of-the-art technology. Used by thousands of schools, colleges, and universities throughout the world, they're also used in agriculture, industry, and research, and by homeowners, expeditions, storm chasers, and government agencies.

The database produced from Vantage Pro2 is run through WeatherLink® weather monitoring software which places the information on the internet for public use and real time weather information at the domes use for history/research data. http://www.weatherlink.com/user/ecodomes/

Vantage Pro2 by Davis Instruments uses frequency hopping spread spectrum radio to transmit and receive data up to 1000' (300 m) line of sight. With features such as forecasting, on-screen graphing, and much more. Quick view icons show the forecast at a glance—sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rain or snow—while a moving ticker-tape display gives more details.

Integrated sensor suite is solar powered and combines rain collector, temperature and humidity sensors, barometer and anemometer into one package.

For improved accuracy, temperature and humidity sensors are housed inside a radiation shield. The shield protects against solar radiation and other sources of radiated and reflected heat.

The station gives highs and lows (and/or totals or averages) for virtually all weather variables for the past 24 days, months, or years, and your own local forecast.
